Nobody throws you a party for paying the electric bill. Paying down a card balance is worse: months of doing the right thing, and the number barely seems to move.
Payday Plan keeps score for you, so the progress you're making is something you can see.
Every tick moves the bar
Tick a bill and three things happen. Confetti comes out of the check, a quick glow crosses the row, and a card appears in the corner with the month's bar filling up another notch: "3 of 18 paid, $2,547.98 to go." There's an Undo on it too.
The card notices where you are in the month. Your first tick, crossing halfway, three-quarters done and the last bill left each get their own line. Pay the last one and the whole screen gets a trophy: every bill for the month, paid.

Money off a debt drops coins
Milestones, badges and a trophy shelf
On the Debts page, the paid-down total carries a row of badges: $500, $1k, $2.5k, $5k and on up. The ones you've earned are gold, and the next two sit locked with how far there is to go. Every time the total crosses another $1,000, a milestone card fills the screen, once.
Paying a debt off gets the biggest moment in the app, then a permanent spot on the Paid off shelf at the bottom of Debts: what it was, when it cleared, and the payment it freed.

There's a countdown too. The Plan and the Debts page both say how many months are left until you're debt-free if you keep redirecting.
Streaks
A month with every bill paid is a clean month. Clean months in a row make a streak, and The Plan shows it under the month: "🔥 3 months in a row, every bill paid." When there's no streak running, it shows your best one and how to start again. Two, three, six and twelve months each get a moment.
Payday, and goals reached
On payday, The Plan opens with a card: what just landed, how many bills it covers until the next paycheck, and what's free to spend. When a goal is fully funded, it gets its own moment.
Your year in review
Year in review (on The Plan in December and January, and in search any time) adds up the year: bills paid and what they came to, debt paid down, debts and goals finished, twelve squares for twelve months with a trophy on every clean one, your busiest month and your biggest bill. Share your year copies a few lines you can send someone, totals only.
